Jikimu Fund was the fourth open–ended balanced scheme launched by UTTAMIS on 3rd November 2008, suited to investors seeking long-term capital growth through exposure to a broadly diversified portfolio of listed equities and debt instruments. The scheme is an investment vehicle providing income and relative capital growth over time. Income will be distributed on a quarterly and annual basis.

FUND OBJECTIVE

To help investors who wish to have regular cash flows meet their periodical expenditures while enjoying capital appreciation on their investment.

LIQUIDITY/SALE OF UNITS

Partial/full repurchase is allowed and is processed within ten (10) working days.

ELIGIBLE INVESTOR(S)

All individual & non-individual (joint holders, institutions & groups) Tanzanians.

INVESTMENT POLICY

The scheme shall invest in listed equities provided that the amount invested in this market segment shall not exceed thirty-five percent (35%) of the total investment of the scheme The balance shall be invested in government instruments of various maturities, listed corporate bonds as well as deposit accounts.

SCHEME FEATURES

• Single and joint holders are permitted.
• Investment plans and minimum initial investment amount:

 (a) Quarterly Income Distribution Plan [TZS 2 million]

(b) Annual Income Distribution Plan [TZS 1 million] and

(c) Annual Re-investment Plan/ Growth [TZS 5,000/-];

• Minimum additional investment amount:

(a) TZS 15,000 for a quarterly or annual plan.

(b) TZS 5,000 for an annual reinvestment plan.

• Units are sold at NAV [meaning no entry load].

Exit load on repurchase:

(a) 2.0% for repurchase within 1 year,

(b) 1.5% for repurchase between 1-2 years,

(c) 1.0% between 2-3 years, and

(d) No exit load after 3 years.

• The fund allows the transfer of units from one investor to another.
• In the event of the death of the unit holder, the survivor, joint holder, or nominee shall be permitted to become the unit holder.
• Units may be used as collateral against loan facilities by financial institutions.
• There is no limit on the maximum amount to be invested.
